IT is not just retirees jumping on the caravan revolution, says Prestige Jayco Bendigo dealership manager Michael Jensen.
Mr Jensen said more and more families were buying camper trailers and caravans as they look to go on active family holidays.
“It’s not just grey nomads anymore,” he said.
“We get lots of families buying them for family holidays.”
Prestige Jayco Bendigo has the biggest site at the RV and Camping Leisurefest Bendigo this year, with 38 vans occupying a vast area of the Bendigo Jockey Club.
It has been exhibiting at the Leisurefest for the 11 years since the Bendigo event began.
Mr Jensen said they normally sell quite a lot of units at the event.
“People come to us because we are local and we’re lucky enough to have our whole range here,” he said. Mr Jensen said he saw many return customers trade in their portable homes to get bigger units as their families grew.
“We find a lot of people come back and progress through the range as their needs change.
“They start with a camper trailer and move onto bigger units to suit their lifestyle.”
