Kentish to play in Queensland

MT Clear premiership player Leigh Kentish will be part of the Victorian team at the Australian Country Cricket Championships, in Bundaberg, Queensland early next year.

Kentish, a runner-up best and fairest at the Mounties in 2006-07 and 2007-08, is currently playing for Tooleybuc-Manangatang in the Swan Hill District Cricket Association.

The all-rounder has been picked to play alongside Wendouree duo Heath Pyke and Tristan Dixon at the two-week carnival, starting January 3.

Pyke is preparing for his seventh country cricket titles and his first as captain of the team, with Dixon named for his first.
