Speedway interest high

TIMMIS Speedway opened with a bang at the weekend, with about 350 people passing through the gates for the season’s first meeting.

Angelo Halacas, of the Mildura Speedway Drivers Club, said it was a successful way to start the season.

“We had a really good weekend, we had good crowds and good entrants,” he said.

Youngster Harley Ra-More prevailed in the juniors, while Peter McCarthy claimed the modified production class.

Darren “Plugger” McCarthy won the AMCAR series, with Robbie Faux taking out the Streetstock series.
